ZasPDF Terms of Service

1.What the Service is and where it runs

ZasPDF is a suite of PDF tools — merge, split, compress, protect, unlock, convert and others — that run entirely inside your browser. The core engine is written in Go and compiled to WebAssembly; the rest of the tools use libraries that also run client-side. No document you process with these tools is transmitted to our servers: we do not host it, back it up, or have access to it. You can verify this yourself by disconnecting from the network after a tool has loaded.

This is separate from the optional account: if you register, account data (email, name, profile photo) is handled through Google Firebase Authentication, as described in our Privacy Policy. Using the processing tools never requires an account.

2.Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your country of residence, you should only use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not direct the Service at children under 13 and do not knowingly collect their information, as described in the Privacy Policy.

3.Accounts

Creating an account is optional and can be done with email and password, with Google, or with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

You can stop using your account at any time. Today, deleting your account and its associated data is handled by writing to hi@zaspdf.com from your registered address, as detailed in the Privacy Policy; we respond within 30 days at the latest.

4.Acceptable Use

By using the Service, you agree not to:

• Use it to process, generate or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, or that infringes the rights of others.
• Use the unlock tool on a document without the legal right or explicit authorisation from its owner to remove its protection.
• Use the signature tool to forge another person's consent or impersonate them.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the security of the Service, including automated attacks or unauthorised access attempts.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.

Because processing happens on your device, we cannot see or moderate the content of your files; compliance with this section is your responsibility, and legal liability for content you process is yours alone.

5.Your Files

You retain all rights to the documents you process. Because we never receive them, we acquire no licence or right to them and cannot claim, use, or share them. The only information that leaves your device while using the tools is the analytics described in the Privacy Policy — which tool was used — never the file's content.

6.Advertising and Third-Party Services

The Service is free and funded by advertising served through Google AdSense, and uses Google Analytics and Google Firebase Authentication as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not control the content of third-party ads or the sites they may link to, and their presence does not imply our endorsement of their products or services. Any transaction or interaction you have with an advertiser is solely between you and that party.

7.License to Use and Intellectual Property

We grant you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service as we provide it, solely in the manner permitted by these Terms. All rights in the Application — its design, interfaces, logos and code — (excluding your content) are and will remain the exclusive property of ZasPDF or MakawDev.

8.Intellectual Property Claims

Because we do not host or have visibility into the files you process, we cannot host third-party infringing content through the processing tools. If you believe something published on the ZasPDF website itself (not a file you processed) infringes your copyright or other intellectual property, write to us at hi@zaspdf.com with a description of the work, its location on the site, and your contact information; we will review and act accordingly.

9.Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular, we do not guarantee that conversions between formats (for example, PDF to Word or Excel) will reproduce the original document's layout with exact fidelity, or that optical character recognition (OCR) will be 100% accurate: both are inherent limitations of the technology, documented on each tool's page. We recommend always keeping a copy of the original document before processing it.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZasPDF and MakawDev will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, loss of data (including corruption of files or loss of encryption passwords), or other intangible losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11.Suspension and Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, as described in Section 3. We may suspend or terminate an account's access for breaching these Terms, in particular Section 4, without prejudice to any other legal remedy available to us. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, and Limitation of Liability — will remain in effect.

12.Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If a change is material, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance through the Service's own interface before it takes effect. The date above always reflects the latest revision.

13.Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and General Provisions

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without prejudice to any rights granted to you as a consumer by the laws of your country of residence. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Puerto Asís, Putumayo, Colombia. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
